It’s a Sunday morning. The scaries have hit. The group messages are blowing up with brunch plans, and the dreaded “cute or homeless?” question hits the chat. All of your friends decide on “in between,” but you know they’ll end up veering toward cute. And so, as you drag yourself out of bed, longing for the comfort of leggings and a sweatshirt, you try to decide which of your cute clothes will allow you to feel even a fraction of the love that pajamas would. It’s a tough situation to be in, I know. Lucky for you, I have the answer.
The other day, a local clothing brand reached out to me and asked if I’d try out their clothing. The brand was started by a student at the University of Utah, where I go to school, so I was excited to have the opportunity to support a fellow student. If you go to the U, you might have heard of them – the brand is Wötzel, and they. are. awesome. Before accepting the offer, I wanted to do my research and make sure it was a brand that I would actually be able to give an honestly good review for. Their motto is “Comfortable Simplistic”, which is what I’m all about. They make clothes that lean towards street style, but with an air of comfort. As soon as I saw the clothes, I was super excited to try them out.
The hoodie I got is, without a doubt, the perfect hoodie. The fabric is insanely soft, and the silhouette of it doesn’t make me look like a marshmallow, which I appreciate endlessly. Probably my favorite feature of the hoodie is that the ends of the strings are capped with metal. Hoodie strings that don’t fray? A concept that I’m here for. Another thing that I really like about it, and hear me out on this one, is that the head hole isn’t too small. I know, I know, it sounds super weird and nit-picky, but one of my biggest pet peeves is when the head hole of a sweatshirt or hoodie is too small so you have to decide if you want to mess up your hair or your makeup in the process of getting it on. Lucky for me, this isn’t an issue I have to deal with and I’m very grateful.
I’ve been wearing the hoodie nonstop since I got it, so when I found myself in the situation I described above, I threw it on. But instead of pairing it with leggings, I decided to opt for my favorite striped pants and a pair of black slides. I was just as comfortable as I would have been in leggings and a sweatshirt, but I looked way more put together. So, my advice for anyone who is stuck in that unfortunate situation is to simply go comfy on the top, but keep it stylish, and to jazz the outfit up with cool pants and/or shoes. It’ll give the look of effort, but you’ll have all the comfort you want!
If you want more dope clothes like these, Wötzel is about to launch a few new products for spring, so be sure to check out their website!
